Need a home supplies, gifts, or decorating ideas, but are a little low on cash these days? Maybe money is not the issue, but you're tired of paying an arm and a leg for those items all the time. Why not take a peek into Dollar Smart and see the possibilities.
Owned by John and Lisa Barr, Dollar Smart has been opened since May 2000. Of course, everything sold only costs a dollar, but this is not your average dollar store. At Dollar Smart, a higher grade of merchandise rests on the shelves.
While visiting, some of the things that instantly caught my eye were:

- Decorating Items
- Outdoor/Yard Ornaments
- Cleaing Supplies
- Bath lotions and Sponge kits
- Reunion Gifts
- Large candle selection
- Children/Baby supplies and toys
- Craft Ideas
- Party Goods
- Beautiful greeting cards (2 for $1.00)
- Balloons (mylar cost more than $1.00)
The list could go on and on, but you'll have to take a look for yourself. In the end, you'll be saying, "I can't believe this is only a dollar!" as you find lots of cool items at one very reasonable price.
Dollar Smart is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is now located at the Main Street Mall (next to Curves) in DuBois. For more information, please call (814) 375-7001.
Dollar Smart is a success, but many patrons began asking for a larger supply of party items and decorations. Wanting to make all their customers happy, John and Lisa decided it was time to answer prayers and opened a party store in October 2001.
Trying to meet everybody's budget, It's All About a Party has three different grades of supplies: value pattern, medium pattern, and elegant pattern. Basically, all events from the backyard barbeque to the elite wedding reception can be supplied.
Approaching the rear of the store, a wall of solid colors is on the far left. This wall contains 20 differents colors of matching party supplies -- plates, napkins, placemats, silverware, table covers and skirts, and more -- ready to be mixed and matches. Need certain colors for a high school or college graduation? Arranging a business party and want to include your company colors? Check out the wall!
However, two other walls exist in the store, along with many stands and shelving. Additional things to look for at It's All About a Part include:

A wedding is a joyous time in a person's life, but finding all the necessities can be a hassle. It's All About a Party is a bride's dream come true. This one stop shop provides all the equipment for a beautiful wedding, such as personalized invitations, wedding party gifts (which can be engraved), wedding favor ideas, over 30 different cake toppers at all times, and much more. There are too many items to list, and your bank account won't hit rock bottom.
